Jawabannya adalah “If the weather was fine tomorrow, we would go on a picnic.” (Jika cuacanya baik-baik saja besok, kita akan pergi piknik.)
Soal meminta untuk mengubah kalimat menjadi pengandaian/conditional sentence type 2.
Kalimat soal “If the weather ______ (be) fine tomorrow, we ______ (go) on a picnic.” berarti “Jika cuaca ______ (be) baik-baik saja besok, kita ______ (pergi) piknik.”
Conditional sentence type 2 digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan atau aksi yang bertentangan dengan kenyataan sehingga mustahil terjadi.
Rumus : If + S + was/were + O, S + would + V1 + O.
Untuk bagian awal rumus kalimatnya If + S + was/were + O. Subjek kalimat adalah “the weather” yang memiliki kata ganti “It” maka to be yang digunakan adalah “was”. Sehingga kalimatnya menjadi “If the weather was fine tomorrow, …”
Kemudian pada bagian akhir rumus kalimatnya S + would + V1 + O. Maka kalimatnya menjadi “… we would go on a picnic.”
