Soal meminta untuk mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif.
Kalimat soal adalah “He doesn’t describe the good painting.” (Dia tidak menggambarkan lukisan yang bagus.)
Kalimat tersebut merupakan kalimat Simple Present Tense ditandai oleh kata ‘doesn’t’. Karena menggunakan ‘doesn’t’ berarti kalimat dalam bentuk negatif.
Rumus kalimat pasif Simple Present Tense : S + am/is/are + not + V3 + by + O.
Is digunakan untuk subjek I, she, he, it dan subjek tunggal (singular).
Are digunakan untuk subjek you, they, we dan subjek jamak (plural).
Am digunakan untuk subjek I.
Langkah-langkah mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Letakkan subjek yang diambil dari objek kalimat aktif yaitu ‘the good painting’.
2. Tambahkan to be ‘is not’ karena subjek ‘the good painting’ merupakan subjek tunggal.
3. Tambahkan V3 yaitu ‘describe’ diubah menjadi ‘described’.
4. Tambahkan ‘by’ dan objek yang diambil dari subjek kalimat aktif yaitu ‘he’ diubah menjadi ‘him’.
Berdasarkan langkah-langkah tersebut diperole kalimat pasif “The good painting is not described by him.” (Lukisan yang bagus tidak diggambar olehnya.)
Jadi, jawabannya adalah : The good painting is not described by him.
