Soal meminta untuk mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif.
Kalimat soal adalah “Does the factory produce many kinds of plastic?” (Apakah pabrik memproduksi banyak jenis plastik?)
Kalimat tersebut merupakan kalimat Simple Present Tense ditandai oleh penanda waktu ‘every week’.
Rumus kalimat pasif Simple Present Tense : Am/is/are + S + V3 + by + O?
Is digunakan untuk subjek I, she, he, it dan subjek tunggal (singular).
Are digunakan untuk subjek you, they, we dan subjek jamak (plural).
Am digunakan untuk subjek I.
Langkah-langkah mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Letakkan to be ‘are’ dan subjek yang diambil dari objek kalimat aktif yaitu ‘many kinds of plastic’.
3. Tambahkan V3 yaitu ‘produce’ diubah menjadi ‘produced’.
4. Tambahkan ‘by’ dan objek yang diambil dari subjek kalimat aktif yaitu ‘the factory’.
Berdasarkan langkah-langkah tersebut diperole kalimat pasif “Are many kinds of plastic are produced by the factory?” (Apakah banyak jenis plastik yang diproduksi oleh pabrik?)
Jadi, jawabannya adalah : Are many kinds of plastic are produced by the factory?
