Changes the sentences into passive form!
2. The policemen are guarding the president.
Jawabannya adalah “The president is being guarded by the policemen.”
Soal meminta untuk mengubah kalimat tersebut ke dalam bentuk kalimat pasif.
Kalimat tersbut memilii arti “Polisi sedang menjaga presiden.”
Kalimat tersebut menggunakan to be “is” dan V-ing, maka kalimatnya menggunakan Present Continuous Tense.
Rumusnya adalah S + IS/AM/ARE + BEING + V3 + O/C + BY AGENT.
NOTE:
-Is digunakan untuk subjek SHE, HE dan IT.
-Am digunakan untuk subjek I.
-Are digunakan untuk subjek YOU, THEY dan WE.
-By agent dalam pasif voice bersifat opsional.
Langkah-langkah mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi pasif adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Subjek kalimat pasif diambil dari objek kalimat aktif (The president).
2. To be disesuaikan dengan subjek (is, karena subjeknya merupakan orang ketiga tunggal).
3. V3 diambil dari kata kerja pada kalimat aktif (guarding menjadi guarded).
4. By agent diambil dari subjek kalimat aktif (by the policemen).
Kalimatnya menjadi “The president is being guarded by the policemen.” (Presiden sedang dijaga oleh polisi.)
Jadi, jawabannya adalah “The president is being guarded by the policemen.”
