4. Jonathan is buying some books.
Jawabannya adalah “Some books are being bought by Jonathan.”
Soal meminta mengubah kalimat menjadi kalimat pasif.
Kalimat soal “Jonathan is buying some books.” berarti “Jonathan sedang membeli beberapa buku.”
Tense yang digunakan pada kalimat adalah Present Continuous Tense yang ditandai dengan penggunaan Verb-ing pada kalimat.
Pola kalimat pasif Present Continuous Tense yaitu S + to be (is/am/are) + being + V3 + by + O/C.
Perlu diingat bahwa dalam kalimat pasif terdapat peraturan berikut :
1. Subjek kalimat di kalimat aktif berubah posisi menjadi objek kalimat di kalimat pasif.
2. Objek kalimat di kalimat aktif berubah posisi menjadi subjek kalimat di kalimat pasif.
Subjek kalimat aktif adalah “Jonathan” maka berubah posisi menjadi objek di kalimat pasif. Objek kalimat “some books” berubah posisi menjadi subjek di kalimat pasif.
Berdasarkan pola kalimat, maka to be yang digunakan adalah “are”. V3 dari kata “buy” yaitu “bought”.
Maka, kalimatnya menjadi “Some books are being bought by Jonathan.” (Beberapa buku sedang dibeli oleh Jonathan.)
Jadi, jawaban yang benar adalah “Some books are being bought by Jonathan.”
