Dilihat dari konteksnya, latar belakang dari dua kejadian di atas adalah klausa “Daniel (practice)…a guitar” dan kejadian yang menginterupsinya adalah klausa “Ratna (come).”
Sehingga, berdasarkan penjelasan dan rumus, kalimat “Daniel (practice)…a guitar” harus menggunakan pola kalimat Past Continuous Tense dan kalimat “Ratna (come).” menggunakan pola kalimat Simple Past Tense.
