Kalimat kompleks adalah kalimat yang terdapat kalimat majemuk bertingkat dengan induk kalimat dan anak kalimat.
Ciri-ciri kalimat kompleks adalah sebagai berikut.
1. Menggunakan konjungsi.
2. Terdapat dua kalimat yang dijadikan satu.
3. Terdapat anak kalimat dan induk kalimat.
Contoh Kalimat kompleks “Paman datang ketika Dian belajar.”
Berdasarkan kalimat di atas, konjungsi yang digunakan adalah ‘ketika’ dan induk kalimatmya adalah Paman datang, anak kalimatmya adalah Dian belajar.
Jadi, kalimat kompleks adalah kalimat yang terdapat kalimat majemuk bertingkat dengan induk kalimat dan anak kalimat.
