Kalimat tersebut merupakan kalimat Simple Present Tense ditandai oleh kata kerja V1 (s/es) ‘waters’.
Rumus kalimat pasif Simple Present Tense : S + am/is/are + V3 + by + O.
Is digunakan untuk subjek I, she, he, it dan subjek tunggal (singular).
Are digunakan untuk subjek you, they, we dan subjek jamak (plural).
Am digunakan untuk subjek I.
Langkah-langkah mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Letakkan subjek yang diambil dari objek kalimat aktif yaitu ‘the flowers’.
2. Tambahkan to be ‘are’ karena subjek ‘the flowers’ merupakan subjek jamak.
3. Tambahkan V3 yaitu ‘waters’ diubah menjadi ‘watered’.
4. Tambahkan ‘by’ dan objek yang diambil dari subjek kalimat aktif yaitu ‘Rina’.
Berdasarkan langkah-langkah tersebut diperole kalimat pasif “The flowers are watered by Rina.” (Bunga disiram oleh Rina.)
Jadi, jawabannya adalah : The flowers are watered by Rina.
